Janet & Clif's "New" Kitchen

The kitchen in this older home was outdated but serviceable. Janet couldn't stand the old blue cabinets but she liked the way the kitchen functioned.

We decided that changing the cabinets was the answer. The question was do we replace them or reface them. We chose refacing because it was less expensive than new cabinets and the old cabinets were solid wood and functioned well; they just needed a facelift.

Tiles in the new backsplash were hand-painted to coordinate with the wallpaper that had been installed the previous year. Countertops in navy contributed to the dramatic transformation.
